Gary is originally from western Illinois. He attended North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and received a BA degree in Bible and Pastoral Studies in 1973. He served for 15 years in local, state, and national youth ministry.
Gary Grogan has served as lead Pastor of Stone Creek Church in Urbana, Illinois since June 1988. Over the years they have seen their dream come true as the church has become a healthy, growing place for people of diverse age, ethnicity, and background to find and follow God. The church has seen constant growth, as well as planted and revitalized five churches over the years. Gary continues to offer mentorship to young leaders and ministers, and has sent many to full time missionary work. He has been vital in bringing leaders and pastors in the community together to pray and work. He also organized and led the Pastors Prayer Network (PPN) for ten years. Gary participates in missions and outreaches all over the world. He stays connected to youth and young adults and serves on the Board of Regents at North Central University.
Gary and his wife Bonnie, a registered nurse, have two married children. James Grogan (Becky), and Stacy Sikorski (Adam). Both of their children are also in local church ministry. The Grogan’s stay busy with their five grandchildren!
